Pete is an executive producer at ITV, a UK television channel. He is responsible for producing some of ITV content, such as Saturday Night Takeaway. He makes sure everything is produced with a high quality, meaning he chooses the casting, production cast, scrips also scene and music choices. Being an executive producer for TV also takes a lot time that requires creativity which sometimes takes years to develop before appearing on Tv.
The most beneficial information for me with Pete as a guest speaker is that in first year of university I don’t need to know what I want to do with my career. Not being sure with what I want to do in the future isn’t a problem, there’s always time during the 3 years of university to figure out whatever I want to dedicate my career to. Also getting a job in a field you’re actually passionate about changes the perspective of the job which could make it more enjoyable. The difference between being creative in a job just for money and being creative in a job you’re passionate about it completely different. Also, never be scared of failing because that’s the only way to learn and have perfect skills.
The information which would affect work in the future in a positive or negative way would be learn that personality and character plays a massive role when it comes to career. An open-minded, bold, dedicated and smart character and personality opens more doors than a quiet and scared. Also know what I am able to offer to a company as an employee.
